Records show that Japanese tourists come here most frequently than any other nationals, to experience the love and warmth of the village. The reason for this has been argued over the years, but there are two theories. One is the visit of Emperor Hirohito, the 124th Emperor of Japan. He came during the first half of the last century and stayed for a while. When he returned, he became an advocate of the village. Other people said an unnamed Japanese artist came here and since then, almost all of the works were inspired by what he saw here.
