Some part of the cathedral was redesigned by Juan Caramuel y Lobkowitz, a Spanish Cardinal. In the year 1673, work began to reshape the west front of Vigevano Cathedral and the work was finally completed in 1680. This architectural design work was the first and only task carried out by Cardinal Lobkowitz. It displayed outstanding skills, unique designs, and an amazing geometrical connection to the square that is ingeniously modified to bring the age-old cathedral centered on and into a line perpendicular to the axis of the piazza. Click the next ARROW to see the next photo!
