Lake Omodeo is an attractive tourist destination as it is rugged by mountain wilderness and surrounded by basalt tablelands. The mountain wilderness embodied the untamed soul of Sardinia where the lake was built (although man-made). It is perfectly created with varied wildlife and plant and dotted with fascinating ruins of the remote past. This was done by many nuraghi scattered in the area.
