Lake Omodeo, which is also known as Lago Omodeo in Italian is an artificial lake, located in central west Sardinia, Italy. The lake was constructed in the 1920s and the dam, which was designed by the engineer Angelo Omodeo, was initiated in 1924. The Lake Omodeo was the largest reservoir in Europe during that period – taking a length of 20 km. The Lake Omodeo is a reservoir which was created by building a dam on the Tirso river between 1919 and 1924 in the Santa Chiara D’Ula canyon. It is the largest artificial lake on the island. It used to be the largest Lake in Europe as well. The water body is more than 22 km lengthwise and over 3 km across. Click the next ARROW to see the next photo!
