The Matera is tucked in the Basilicata region of Southern Italy, a mystical place if you must know. The spectacular region is very famous for its eccentric old temples, and dramatic cave hoses called the ‘Sassi.’ The Sassi were carved out from cliffs and stones. These are some extraordinary facts about the Matera. The Matera’s architecture is a wonder to behold. It has a vertical light that regulates heat control in summer months. During the winter period, the light gets lower into the grotto to heat it up. The houses which are mainly stone caves are very small.
