The magnificent Statue of Liberty which is presently in the United States of America is usually called the ‘Modern Colossus.’ This is because they measure almost the same height. At the pedestal of the statue of liberty lies a plaque which has the inscription of a poem titled ‘The New Colossus.’ The Colossus of Rhodes and the Statue of Liberty were erected on harbors. Also, the two statues were built to signify freedom.
