The patron saint of the cathedral is St. Lawrence who was one of the deacons of the ancient city of Rome. St. Lawrence was martyred alongside six others who were under the leadership of Pope Sixtus II. Roman Emperor Valerian ordered their killing. Even after his death, he still performs miracles. Two occasions have been reported so far. On one occasion, a priest by the name Fr. Santulus was renovating a church dedicated to St. Lawrence when he noticed a shortage of food. He prayed to St. Lawrence and almost immediately he found a fresh loaf of bread which fed his numerous workmen for ten days. Click the next ARROW to see the next photo!
