The Cathedral was under the service of a Chapter. Initially, in 1675 when it was formed, the Chapter comprised of a total of three dignities and nine Cannons. The dignities were the Archpriest, the Archdeacon, and the Provost. Almost a century later in 1744, to be precise, the Cannons became twelve in number.
