The structure of the cathedral features a Baroque portal which represents the Annunciation. The portal was erected in 1668. It also features a Neo-Gothic west front which was built in 1891. The cathedral has two campaniles built Mannerist-style, flanked by bases built in the shape of an octagon. The octagonal bases share a striking resemblance even though their constructions were carried out in different centuries. The one at the right was built in 1655 while the one at the left was built in 1890. Also featured is a dome-like, tall structure which dates back to the 17th century and a rose window built in the 19th century. The cathedral is framed by two giant bell towers and some spires which are coated with majolica and filled with a top-of-the-range 17C portal.
