Panormitis monastery is the main monastery of Symi Island, and it can be found in the village of Panormitis to the southwest of the main town. The place is dedicated to Archangel Michael, and records have it that the construction date is unknown except for an old manuscript that says it has been in existence since the 15th century. There are two museums you will find in the building which exhibit folk culture, including items related to fishing, shepherding and agriculture.
