4Aldobrandeschi Castle

Medieval castles are part of the strong points of Sovana town, and Aldobrandeschi Castle is a top sight to see. According to historical records, it was built on top of an existing Roman Fortress, but the current appearance was established in 1572 when the Bastions were added to the building. Unfortunately, due to years of violence, neglect, and rot, only the portal, a tower and a stretch of walls remain in the building for visitors to see. Click the next ARROW to see the next photo!
