Perhaps, nothing has positively impacted the recent history and culture of Savoca than The Godfather movie. When Francis Ford Coppola appeared on the shores of Savoca in the 1970s, little did they know that he was on a mission to reshape the history of the town forever. Much of the scenes in the movie was shot in the town, including churches, villas, castles, cobblestone streets, and other external locations. Many visitors come here for tourism with the intentions of tracking down the locations of the scenes of the movie. In Savoca, you’ll find other scenes set involving the young Michael Corleone, a character played by the great Al Pacino, were filmed.
