Most Italian towns and cities have plenty of ancient churches because of the early impact of the Christian religion. In Savoca, there are about 15 of these old churches, many of which contain artifacts and objects that provide evidence to the history and culture of the town. Some of these churches that are worth visiting include San Nicolò, which was built in the 13th century and abundantly embellished with Bizantine painting.
