This town in the Isle of Skye offers visitors so much with their history, culture, and fun activities. We present to you five exciting features that make Portree a place to visit. During the 1700s, many Scotts decided to leave the country to America to escape poverty. At this period, the Portree town became the most important place for people sailing away to the US. Also, during the potato famine in the 1840s, the harbor played a significant role in taking people away for greener pastures.
