Even though they lived here since the sixth century, the Etruscan people left a mark for generations to come. Visitors will find several sacred ways and tombs in the Pitigliano Valley, up to ten at least. Also of interest are the narrow passageways called ‘Vie Cave,’ which were dug out from the tufa rock. To see more of Etruscan wonders, especially castles, you should visit the towns of Sorano, Sovana, and Saturnia.
