The rich history of Orta San Giulio is incomplete without reference to the impact and value created by the Romans and bishops. Buildings, roads, and castles that were constructed during the Roman periods still exist today, many of which form the focal point for a tour. During the 16th to 18th century, the towns claimed its place in history by associating with the Bishops of Novara.
