During the 1700s Oban was a very important seafood market where there are a few fishermen cottages. However, by 1794, the Oban distillery was established, and everything changed. Within a few months, a modern town had grown around the distillery, making it one of the oldest and smallest distilleries in the world. Oban Distillery offers a range of regular tours from January to December of every year. Visitors who come here get to learn about malt whiskey, how it’s made as well as sample a dram.
