Dikella being part of the local community of Makri makes it easy for tourists to cross to the area and add more value to their adventure. Makri has a population of over 900 people and the place used to be ruled by the Ottomans until they were set free after the Balkan Wars; eventually becoming part of Greece in 1920. You can get in so many things including walking in the lovely coastline, summer and spring beach, walking up to the hills, and ruins of the Byzantine church.
