The author of Pinocchio Carlo Lorenzini, who was born in Florence bust spent part of his childhood here created and connected his tale to this village. If you remember, Pinocchio is the popular story of a wooden boy who wanted to become human. Carlo Lorenzini took the name of the village to become Carlo Collodi, which he used throughout his life.
