Over a period, various excavations have revealed the skeletons of those who were believed to have died during the unfortunate disaster. At first, 55 skeletons were discovered on a beach. These skeletons comprised of 30 men, 13 women and 12 children. They were found along boat chambers. A few years later, 300 skeletons were discovered together in a dozen arches on the same beach. It is believed that the victims were trying to escape from the volcano when they met their deaths. Click the next ARROW to see the next photo!
