York Castle is situated in York city, England. It is a walled complex containing a series of castles, law courts, prisons, and several other buildings on the southern side of the River Foss. York castle has been in existence for the past nine centuries. The great tower features a Chapel which still maintains some of its best medieval architecture. The chapel in the Clifford’s Tower was a private one as only the King goes there to hear mass. It was also used as a treasury and storeroom. Click the next ARROW to see the next photo!
