The pedestal of the Lady Liberty popularly called the Fort Wood housed many military families for over 100 years. These families had many young children who have spoken in admiration when of the sculpture when asked about how they felt about their excellent home. Some of the kids said they were allowed to drop baseballs from the statue’s crown to see how far it would go. Click the next ARROW to see the next photo!
