If you gain entry into the memorial building, you will see a beautifully sculpted structure of the President alongside two of his greatest speeches inscribed on the nearby walls. What else do you know about the memorial? These are ten interesting facts about the building. The Lincoln Memorial was built by Abraham Lincoln’s friends to honor him. The names of these upright friends are Joseph Gurney Cannon and Shelby M. Cullom. They pushed the bill in 1910 with so much enthusiasm that President Taft had no choice but to approve it.
