2The fall of London Bridge

The original London Bridge was commissioned by King Henry II, and the construction process began in 1176 A.D. The bridge was devoted to the Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas a’Becket, who was the King’s political opponent and friend. Following an Act of Parliament in 1758, all the buildings erected on the bridge were demolished. The London Bridge was eventually pulled down and a new one built in 1831. Click the next ARROW to see the next photo!
