In 1565, the Medici Family commissioned this part of the Piazza, to celebrate the wedding of one of their own, Francesco I de’ Medici. Decorated with mythical chained figures, the statue also represents the victory of the Tuscany Navy in its many battles. Click the next ARROW to see the next photo!
