Situated in Brindisi province, Apulia in Italy is the Roman Catholic cathedral, Oria Cathedra. The place is devoted to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The Oria Cathedral is the Pontifical seat of Oria Diocese. The sitting bishop of Oria in the year 1750 destroyed the Romanesque cathedral that was built during the 13th century on the site of the present cathedral. The Romanesque cathedral became unsafe due to the earthquake that occurred on February 20, 1743. The two columns from the former cathedral were bought for 8000 ducats to be used in the Capella Reggia of Caserta. Click the next ARROW to see the next photo!
