Museo Nacional Del Prado is the main Spanish national art museum, situated at the central area of Madrid. This museum houses one of the finest collections of European arts in the world that dates from the twelfth century to the early twentieth century. Formally known as the Royal Museum, it was renamed the National Museum of Paintings and Sculptures. The museum was later opened to the public in November 1819 and was named Museo Nacional Del Prado.
