Crete is the largest Island in Greece and the 88th largest Island in the world. Crete was first made popular after it appeared in the poem ‘the Odyssey’. It is located along the coastline of the Southern region of the Aegean Sea. It is a very mountainous area. It has some valleys, gorges, rivers, and lakes. Crete is loved by many tourists because of its wonderful culture and food. The people of Island of Crete refer to themselves as Cretans and not Greeks. These are a few things that you should know about Crete; Excavators discovered that Crete has been in existence for a very, very long time.
