The construction of the castle wasn’t cheap at all. The timber used to construct Caernarfon came from Anglesey and Liverpool, while laborers came from as far as London. The daily wage for each of the hundreds of laborers was around three pence. By the time the building was completed in 1330, the cost was around £25,000, which is about £26,414,253 in 2018.
