Frigiliana is renowned for its Moorish old quarter and narrow streets decorated with ceramics mosaic. It is a town in the province of Malaga located 50km from Nerja and part of the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. The Old Fountain

A great way to spend a couple of hours in Frigiliana is paying a visit to the old fountain. You will find lots of pretty whitewashed alleys with vibrant flowers, scenic vistas, nice cafes, and shops selling colorful pottery. Taking a trip to Frigiliana without visiting the old fountain makes your experience incomplete. The old white fountain provides a stunning contrast against the vibrant blue skies and painted doors. It is a beautiful place for you to relax and enjoy.

The vista is Only 10 min drive uphill from Nerja where you can perfectly have a view of the city. It is a bit of a climb to this vista, but it doesn’t take a great deal of effort because it gives you an overview of the village. You can watch the sunset from this point because it is very beautiful, and you can continue onwards to the castle ruins where views are even better and definitely worth the additional effort. It is also a great place to relax and get a glass of wine and wait for the local bus.
Museo Arqueologico de Frigiliana

This is a small archaeological museum located in a wonderfully restored building in central Frigiliana. The museum encompasses the history of Frigiliana and also accommodates the municipal library, exhibition halls, and tourist office. You may want to visit this place as the admission is free. It is an information center where you can learn a lot about some artifacts on Frigiliana and great views from the courtyard.

This is a very beautiful castle you will find interesting. An uphill walk via narrow lanes to the castle is very rewarding. It would be nice if you prepared before climbing the hill as it has been recorded that most visitors don’t usually make it to the top because of its steps and rough tracks to the old fort. There are nice old buildings on the way which will catch your attention and a watering hole available for you to quench your taste. You will find donkeys that live here permanently, and the view at the top of the castle is superb.
The Church Of San Antonio

This church set atop the beautiful town of Frigiliana is worth visiting. Although the front is slightly ruined by café tables and chairs, it is a nice building that is rooted in history. The architecture is quite amazing, and you will find wonderful figures of Mary and Christ. The church is opposite a very small square where you can relax, and it’s considered ideal for a drink or coffee.
