During the early 19th century, there was a great rush for arts because of its increasing market value and worth. In a bid to preserve these pieces as a national treasure, the British government founded the art museum in 1824. Here are 10 interesting things facts to know about the National Gallery in London. Currently, there are about 2,300 pieces of paintings located in this building, dating from the mid-13th century to 1900.
