Mount Etna is located very close to the popular island of Italy called Sicily, and it happens to be the biggest active volcano in Europe. This volcanic activity was caused by the decrease of the African plate below the Eurasian plate. These are some awesome facts about the mountain that everyone should know. Ever since the beginning of the Millennium, the Mount has erupted every year except in 2007. The Mountain area releases pyroclastic flows every year. The volcanic activity only ended in the year 2007. However, the most serious eruption occurred in 1992.
