Lincoln Cathedral also known as St. Mary’s Cathedral, is located in Lincolnshire, England. Initially built as a place of worship for Christians, this place hosts thousands of tourists every year. Here are some amazing facts that you may not know about the Lincoln Cathedral. The building of the Lincoln Cathedral commenced in 1088 by the first Bishop of Lincoln, it was completed in 1092, but a fire attack razed the Cathedral in 1141 which led to its’ reconstruction, this newly reconstructed Cathedral was collapsed by an earthquake in 1185, one of the greatest experienced in Britain. It was rebuilt again in 1192, and the newly built Cathedral collapsed in 1237. Reconstruction began in 1255 and ended finally in 1311.
