Lago di Varese also known as the “Lake of Varese” in English is located in Lombardy, Italy. This picturesque region consisting of many hamlets and villages which have beautiful landscape is home to some aquatic animals. Lake Varese is “fed” by springs that are underground. The lake and its surrounding land mass was left neglected for years. The beautiful lake has some interesting and fun facts. Here are some of them; Lake Varese has a field of flowers also known “Compo del Fiori.” It was originally a center for execution; a philosopher once believed to be involved in dark magic was burnt to death here. Varese has an Island called “Isolino Virginia.” This Island which has been adopted names like Isola di S. Biagio and Isola di Donna Camilla Litta over the years was formed as a result of an accumulated waste of a million years.
