It was originally built of timber wood then the wood was changed to a heavier frame which earned it the name “White Church”. A few years later, the whole building was reconstructed with stone by Normans. It is one of the oldest surviving Cathedrals built by Normans in England. Click the next ARROW to see the next photo!
