The Anglican Communion was hit by a controversy that would see it separated from Roman Catholicism. Archbishop Thomas Cramer permitted the divorce of Anne, the Boleyn girl to King Henry IV. This raised dust in the Catholic Church who frowned at divorce. This controversial event led to the murder of Archbishop Cramer who was accused of being a heretic.
