The brain survives on oxygen. The brain uses a fifth of the oxygen circulated in the body. If the supply of oxygen to the brain is compromised, it can work on autopilot for about 5 minutes before it experiences death. If the brain loses oxygen for a few seconds, it can lead to unconsciousness. The brain stays alive for some minutes after the body dies. Click the next ARROW to see the next photo!
